'Youngblood' Creator Unveils Writers for the Film
Screenwriter duo, J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani, have been hired to pen the script of "Youngblood", so revealed creator Rob Liefeld. Opening up about matters related to the comic book adaptation to Splash Page MTV, the 41-year-old laid bare that the writing pair is already "half-way through their first draft of the screenplay".

Recalling the time the two were hired to tackle the scripting, Liefeld fessed up that the two were originally eyed to pen "Capeshooters". "They were the guys everyone wanted for 'Capeshooters' at 11 AM at Warner Bros a year ago," he explained, "and then at 3 PM, I met with Brett [Ratner] and his producing partner, and Brett says, 'I know exactly who we have to get to write this: Lavin and Damiani'."

Writers aside, the writer/illustrator talked about the film's plot, stating that it will revolve around two of Youngblood members, bow-wielding marksman Shaft and government assassin Chapel. Of the two characters, he said, "They don't like each other. Shaft is the new kid on the block in the movie, and he and Chapel have to put aside their differences to save the Youngblood program."

Given the comic book series’ occasionally adult-oriented subject matter, which combined massive action sequences with discussion of modern politics and celebrity culture, Liefeld explained that the film was “looking to be in the ‘Iron Man‘ neighborhood” as far as tone and rating. He told MTV that he hoped to make the film “a little more violent” than Marvel’s 2008 blockbuster, “but as much as you can push it with PG-13."

The series itself chronicle the adventures of a superheroes team which is sanctioned and overseen by the United States Government ,Twho are generally regarded by the public as rockstars. he movie has "X-Men: The Last Stand" helmer Brett Ratner attached as director.
